Excel 2019 ​Part 5 (Automation)

Excel 2019 Part 5 consists of modules designed by DJL Training for experienced Excel 2019 users. This course is for learners who wish to learn about the automation capabilities of Excel. This course will cover recording and editing macros, adding interactivity to worksheets, and creating interactive charts.

To ensure success in this course, learners should have completed Excel 2019 Part 1 or have equivalent knowledge and experience. Excel 2019 Part 2 and 3 is helpful.

501: Recording and Editing Macros

For learners who wish to record macros to automate repetitive tasks. In this advanced level module, learners will learn how to record and edit macros.
502: Adding Interactivity to Worksheets
For learners who wish to add interactivity to worksheets. In this advanced level module, learners will learn how to make spreadsheets more user-friendly by adding data validation, working with developer form controls, and using the camera tool.
503: Creating Interactive Charts

For learners who wish to create an interactive chart which can replace dozens of charts. Learners should already know how to create charts. In this expert level module, learners will learn how to arrange your data for charting, creating range names, creating option groups, and data validation. Learners should be comfortable reading and writing formulas in Excel, such as VLOOKUP.

System Requirements

Learners' PCs should meet the following requirements: 

  • 2 GB of available hard disk space 
  • SVGA monitor at 1024 × 768 or higher resolution
  • A version of Windows support by Microsoft
  • The latest version of Chrome browser (preferred browser)

Dual Screens

For the best learning experience in our instructor-led training portal, we recommend learners use two screens for training.

  1. On the Remote Lab screen, learners will complete training exercises under the watchful eye of their instructor.
  2. On the Virtual Classroom screen, learners will see and hear their instructor as they follow the instructor's step-by-step directions. The virtual classroom screen can be a big screen in a conference room or a learner's second monitor.

Instructor-led Portal System Check

Our system check will check the readiness of your learners' browser, internet connectivity, screen resolution, microphone and camera. The test link will be provided to you prior to your class.
