Microsoft Project 2019

Microsoft Project is a project management software product, developed and sold by Microsoft. It is designed to assist a project manager in developing a plan, assigning resources to tasks, tracking progress, managing the budget, and analyzing workloads.


To ensure success in this course, learners should have basic project management knowledge and skills. Additionally, learners should have competency in using other Microsoft Office applications, preferably Office 2019.

Project 2019 ​Part 2

This intermediate level course will expand learners' knowledge with an in-depth look at Project 2019. This course will cover executing a project, monitoring project progress, controlling a project plan, reporting on project progress, and customizing the application. Upon completion of this course, learners will have the knowledge and skills to manage a project so that it is completed on time, within budget, and according to scope.


To ensure success in this course, learners should have basic project management knowledge and skills. Additionally, learners should have completed Project Part 1.

201: Executing a Project
This lesson will cover how to enter task progress, update task progress with sharepoint, update work, and update costs. In this module, learners will enter progress on tasks and update the project plan, update task progress from a SharePoint task list, update task progress to reflect work completed and revise work needed, and update cost information in a task.
202: Monitoring Project Progress
This lesson will cover how to view project progress, add custom fields, create custom views, create a network diagram, and analyze a project plan. In this module, learners will view project progress using project plan views, add custom fields to a project plan, create customized project plan views, create a network diagram to analyze tasks, and analyze the progress of a project plan.
203: Controlling a Project Plan
This lesson will cover how to edit the task list, reschedule tasks, and update a baseline. In this module, learners will edit tasks to reflect changes in the plan, reschedule tasks to control the project plan, and update the Baseline fields and create an Interim Plan.
204: Reporting on Progress
This lesson will cover how to format and share a chart view, view existing reports, create custom reports, and create a visual report. In this module, learners will format and share the Gantt Chart and Timeline views, view the built-in reports, create and customize new reports, create and export Visual Reports.
205: Customizing the Application
This lesson will cover how to change project options, create a project plan template, share resources, and link project plans. In this module, learners will manage the options of the application environment, create a custom project plan template, share resources using a resource pool, and link project plans using master projects and subprojects.

In our Training Portal, learners access DJL Training laptops for live online hands-on training.

System Requirements

Learners' PCs should meet the following requirements: 

  • 2 GB of available hard disk space 
  • SVGA monitor at 1024 × 768 or higher resolution
  • A version of Windows support by Microsoft
  • The latest version of Chrome browser (preferred browser)

Dual Screens

For the best learning experience in our instructor-led training portal, we recommend learners use two screens for training.

  1. On the Remote Lab screen, learners will complete training exercises under the watchful eye of their instructor.
  2. On the Virtual Classroom screen, learners will see and hear their instructor as they follow the instructor's step-by-step directions. The virtual classroom screen can be a big screen in a conference room or a learner's second monitor.

Instructor-led Portal System Check

Our system check will check the readiness of your learners' browser, internet connectivity, screen resolution, microphone and camera. The test link will be provided to you prior to your class.
