Windows 10 ​- Intro to Personal Computers Using Windows 10

This course will help learners define what a PC is, and get familiar with the Windows 10 user interface and its basic capabilities. In this course, learners will explore Windows 10 and learn how to create documents, send email, browse the Internet, and share information between applications and with other users. 


This course is designed for learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. Previous exposure to personal computers, desktop applications, and the Internet is needed. Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to perform basic work-related tasks on a PC running the Windows 10 operating system.

101: Accessing Windows 10

For learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. In this module, learners will get started with Windows 10, navigate the Windows 10 desktop, and use the Start menu.
102: Using Windows Universal Apps and Desktop Applications
For learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. In this module, learners will use desktop applications, use Windows universal apps, multitask with open apps, and install apps from the Windows store.
103: Working with Files and Folders
For learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. In this module, learners will manage files and folders with File Explorer, and store and share files with OneDrive.
104: Using Cortana and Edge

For learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. In this module, learners will get to know Cortana, use Cortana as a Personal Assistant, and browse the web with Edge.
105: Customizing the Windows 10 Environment
For learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. In this module, learners will customize the Start menu, and customize the desktop and lock screen.
106: Installing and Removing Devices
For learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. In this module, learners will manage printers and manage peripheral devices.
107: Using Windows 10 Security Features
For learners who are familiar with computers and who need to use the features and functionality of the Windows 10 operating system for personal and/or professional reasons. In this module, learners will manage passwords and privacy levels, and use Windows Defender.

Please ensure that your training environment meets the requirements below.

System Requirements

You will need one computer for each learner with the following configurations: 


  • The course application/version installed on each PC
  • 2 GB of available hard disk space 
  • SVGA monitor at 1024 × 768 or higher resolution
  • Windows 10 or later
  • The latest version of Chrome browser (preferred)
  • A shared network drive or SharePoint site
  • Internet access

An instructor PC is also required for higher education training.

Projector

A projector system is required to display the instructor's computer screen

Web Access

Learners must be able to download the exercise files to their PCs from our website during training
