Training Needs Discovery Call Preparation Guide

We're here to help you design a training program that perfectly aligns with your organization's goals. In advance of our call, please take a few moments to review this guide. It will help you clarify which training programs interest you, how you envision grouping your learners, and any scheduling preferences you have. Your thoughtful input will enable us to create a tailored training experience that truly meets your team's needs.

Have You Browsed the Course Catalog?

  • Look over our course catalog to see the available training programs.
  • Note any classes (e.g., Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) that catch your interest.

Which Application Training Classes Are Right for Your Team?

  • Identify the application training programs that are most relevant for your organization.
  • Make a list of the classes you’d like to consider for scheduling.

Which Training Format Do You Prefer?

  • Would your team would benefit more from hands-on training or observation-based training?

  • In hands-on training, learners follow along and complete exercises during the session.

  • In observation-based training, learners watch a demonstration and absorb the material without active participation during the session.

  • Think about which approach fits best with your team’s learning style, goals, and environment.

What Are Your Top Training Priorities?

  • Which training programs are the highest priority for your team?
  • Think about the order in which you’d like to schedule these sessions.

How Should You Assess Your Learners?

  • Consider which employees require training in each class for each application and roughly how many learners there are.
  • The assessment can be as simple as determining which applications your team needs training on, or it can involve evaluating your employees' current skill levels to decide which classes they should skip or attend.
  • If needed, we can provide skill level assessments to help determine the best training approach.
  • Be prepared to share how many learners you envision participating in each class.
  • Please note: Even if some of your learners (such as managers or those with extensive experience) are considered "advanced users," Part 1 (foundation-level) classes often provide valuable insights and refreshers that benefit everyone.

Do You Need to Group Your Learners?

  • Consider whether you want to formally structure your training groups or allow groupings to form naturally.
  • You might group by department, team, role, or skill level.
  • Evaluate if a formal grouping will better meet your organization's needs or if a flexible approach is sufficient.

Which Office Locations Will Be Involved?

  • If your organization has multiple office locations (for example, offices in different cities), please specify which office sites will be involved in the training.

How Will Learners Participate in the Training?

  • Will your learners attend the training in-person at a designated venue (such as a conference room) or will some learners join remotely (for example, from home)?
  • Please indicate your preferred setup for conducting the training.

What Are Your Preferred Time Slots and Session Lengths?

  • Our default training hours are from 9 am to 4 pm in your time zone.
  • If you have specific scheduling needs, such as shift patterns or preferred days, please let us know which time slots work best for your team.
  • Consider the duration of your training sessions. Would you like 3-hour sessions or 6-hour sessions? Let's say you want to schedule a 12-hour class. You can schedule two 6-hour or four 3-hour sessions for the class. The smallest block you can schedule is 3 hours. Let us know your preferred session length.
  • When it’s time to schedule your classes, we’ll provide access to our online scheduler so you can view our availability and book your sessions accordingly. For now, please share your preferred time slots and any special scheduling preferences.

Do You Have Any Special Considerations?

  • Are there any additional requirements or constraints we should be aware of to ensure a smooth training experience?
  • Please share any special considerations that may impact how the training is delivered.
