Microsoft 365 is a subscription-based platform of integrated apps and services. Depending on your subscription, applications may include desktop or cloud-based versions of Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word. Services may include Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, Power BI, and Stream.

Office 365 Online (with Teams for the Desktop)

This course is intended for business users and knowledge workers in a variety of roles and fields who have and who are now extending Microsoft Office to a collaborative cloud-based Microsoft 365 environment. In this course, learners will learn how to get started with 

Microsoft 365, collaborate with shared files, use productivity apps, use Outlook on the web, collaborate with Teams, and configure Teams.


To ensure success in this course, learners should have competence in a desktop-based version of the Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, or 2016 edition of the Microsoft Office productivity suite including:
  • Excel Part 1
  • Outlook Part 1
  • PowerPoint Part 1
  • Word Part 1
  • Using Microsoft Windows 10

301: Getting Started with Microsoft 365
This module will cover Sign In to Microsoft 365, and Navigate the Microsoft 365 Environment.
302: Collaborating with Shared Files

For learners who... This module will cover how to work with shared documents in SharePoint, edit documents in Office Online, collaborate on the SharePoint site, and work with OneDrive for Business and Delve.
303: Using Productivity Apps

For learners who know how to collaborate with shared files. This module will cover work with productivity apps in combination, broadcast messages with yammer, and manage tasks with the planner app.
304: Using Outlook on the Web

For learners who know how to use productivity apps. This module will cover send and receive email, manage contacts, schedule appointments, and personalize Outlook on the web.
305: Collaborating with Teams {DEMO]
DEMO only: For learners who know how to use Outlook on the Web. In this module, the instructor will give a general overview of how to converse and share in Teams, call and meet in Teams, collaborate with Microsoft 365 apps and Teams. For the hands-on version of this module, see Teams Part 2.
306: Configuring Teams [DEMO]

DEMO only: For learners who know how to collaborate with Teams. In this module, the instructor will give a general overview of how to configure Teams, configure channels, and configure tabs. For the hands-on version of this module, see Teams Part 1.

In our Training Portal, learners access DJL Training laptops for live online hands-on training.

System Requirements

Learners' PCs should meet the following requirements: 

  • 2 GB of available hard disk space 
  • SVGA monitor at 1024 × 768 or higher resolution
  • A version of Windows support by Microsoft
  • The latest version of Chrome browser (preferred browser)

Dual Screens

For the best learning experience in our instructor-led training portal, we recommend learners use two screens for training.

  1. On the Remote Lab screen, learners will complete training exercises under the watchful eye of their instructor.
  2. On the Virtual Classroom screen, learners will see and hear their instructor as they follow the instructor's step-by-step directions. The virtual classroom screen can be a big screen in a conference room or a learner's second monitor.

Instructor-led Portal System Check

Our system check will check the readiness of your learners' browser, internet connectivity, screen resolution, microphone and camera. The test link will be provided to you prior to your class.
